Marbella in November 2026: weather, events and things to do

In short: Marbella weather in November means highs of 18 to 20 °C, lows around 10 °C and about six hours of sun a day, with the highest rainfall of the autumn. The sea is still 18 °C but cold for most swimmers, and the beach clubs have closed for the winter. It is the quietest and cheapest month of the year here, which makes Marbella in November a month for golf, spas, food and walking rather than for the beach. The one thing that fills the calendar is the Christmas lights switch on in the last weekend.
November is the quietest month Marbella has, and the one that divides people most. The sea has given up the summer heat, the first proper rain of the year arrives, and the beach clubs shut for the winter. What you get instead is restaurant tables free, golf courses in their best condition of the year and prices at their floor. Then the last week flips: the Christmas lights go on across 120 streets and the town goes from low season to its second busiest period in a single weekend.

Weather in Marbella in November
The Atlantic takes over in November. Highs settle at 18 to 20 °C, warm enough for lunch outdoors in the sun, and the nights drop to around 10 °C, cold enough to want heating. The pattern is usually several bright, still days followed by two or three wet ones, rather than steady grey.
This is the wettest stretch of the year, at 100 to 115 mm across six or seven days. The rain arrives in heavy bursts and clears, so a wet forecast rarely means a lost day, but November is the one month here where an indoor plan earns its place in the itinerary. Sunset moves to just before six for the whole month, so the useful daylight runs roughly eight to six.
Is Marbella warm in November?
Mild rather than warm. Days of 18 to 20 °C with about six hours of sun, evenings around 10 °C, and the highest rainfall of the autumn. It is jumper and jacket weather with genuinely warm afternoons in between.
What to pack for Marbella in November
- A warm jacket and a jumper. Evenings sit around 10 °C and most terraces are only partly heated.
- A waterproof and an umbrella. The wettest month of the autumn, and the rain comes hard rather than fine.
- Shoes that cope with wet pavement. The old town’s streets get slippery in a downpour.
- Swimwear anyway. Heated pools, spas and the hardier beach swimmers all make use of it.
- Layers rather than one thick coat. Midday in the sun can be 20 °C and eight at night can be 10 °C.
Events in Marbella in November 2026
November is the thinnest month of the year for the events calendar, and the municipal agenda reflects that: exhibitions, two fixed dates and little else. The month’s real event is the Christmas lights switch on at the end of it.

The christmas lights switch on
The biggest night of the month. An evening of music, shows and family activities that ends with the lights going on across the town, in recent years covering around 120 decorated streets, 15 squares and fifty motifs on the roundabouts. San Pedro Alcántara holds its own switch on the same weekend. If your trip overlaps with it, book earlier than you would for the rest of the month.
Programme published each November on the council’s festivities page.
Also you can enjoy the light shows in Calle Larios at Málaga City center. Pending the date to confirm but it can be on November 27th.

All Saints Day and Black Friday
All Saints’ is a national holiday and, in Andalusia, a family day spent visiting cemeteries with flowers. It falls on a Sunday in 2026, so the effect on a visitor is small.
Black Friday this year is in November 27th, is the other fixed date, and in a month this quiet it is the one day the town feels busy: the Golden Mile boutiques, Puerto Banús and the shopping centres all run it, and the marina car parks fill from mid morning.
Exhibitions open through November
Four shows run into or through the month and only one charges. The Dalí at the Museo del Grabado, in the old Hospital Bazán, is worth the 5 euros: thirteen engravings in a briefcase shaped box with a telephone for a handle, alongside ten recipes for immortality written by the artist. It closes mid month, so do it first.
The rest are free: Joël Mestre at the Yusto/Giner gallery on Calle Madera, “The Suspended Instant” by Jorge Hernández at the Hotel El Fuerte, and “Inhabiting the Roots”, eleven participatory installations at the Museo Ralli in Coral Beach, which also runs bookable workshops
All four are listed with venues and hours on the council’s cultural agenda.

Things to do in Marbella in November
November rewards the plans that need an empty town: the ones you cannot book in August and do not enjoy in the heat.
Play golf in the best conditions of the year
The courses have had the autumn rain, the greens are at their best and the temperature is right for eighteen holes at any hour, which is why November is the month the serious golfers come. Most of the good courses sit in one valley behind Puerto Banús: see Nueva Andalucía, Marbella’s golf valley.

Use the spas properly
A 10 °C evening is what a hammam and a heated pool are for, and November is when the hotel spas drop to their lowest rates and stop needing a booking three weeks out. Our guide to the best spas in Marbella covers which ones take non residents.
Find the beach clubs that stay open
Most close for the winter, but a handful keep running with heaters, fire pits and a winter menu, at far better value than in August. Which ones stay open and what they charge is in our guide to the best winter beach clubs in Marbella.

Eat somewhere you could not book in summer
This is the easiest month of the year to get a table anywhere in Marbella, including the Michelin starred kitchens that are booked out from June to September. The guide to the Michelin star restaurants in Marbella is the place to start.
Drive to Málaga for the Christmas lights
Málaga’s Calle Larios light show is the biggest in Andalusia and starts in late November, 45 minutes up the coast, and it is worth an evening on its own. Times, dates and where to park are in our guide to the Málaga Christmas lights.
Practical tips for visiting Marbella in November
- Book one to two weeks ahead for most of the month, and earlier for the last weekend, when the lights go on and local demand jumps.
- Check seasonal opening before you travel. Water parks, most beach clubs and some chiringuitos are closed for the winter, while museums, golf, restaurants and the old town run normally.
- Plan around the rain rather than for it. Downpours here are short and heavy, so keep one indoor option per day instead of rearranging the trip.
- Take the evenings seriously. Terraces at 10 °C need a real jacket, and many restaurants heat only part of their outdoor space.
Where to stay: Puerto Banús in the quiet months
In November Puerto Banús works best as a base rather than as a night out. The marina is calm, parking is free of the summer scrum, the golf valley starts directly behind it, and Málaga is 45 minutes up the AP-7 when you want the lights.
From holiday rentals apartments in Puerto Banús, the beach is a short walk and most properties include private parking, fast wifi and heating, which matters more this month than a pool does. If you would rather be in the town itself, you can find the best holiday rentals apartments across Marbella.
Frequently asked questions about Marbella in November
Is Marbella warm in November?
Mild. Highs of 18 to 20 °C and lows around 10 °C, with about six hours of sun a day. Afternoons in the sun are genuinely warm and evenings need a jacket. It is the wettest month of the autumn, at 100 to 115 mm over six or seven days.
What is the warmest place in Spain in November?
The Canary Islands by a clear margin, and on the mainland the Costa del Sol and the Almería coast. Marbella is among the mildest mainland options because Sierra Blanca shelters it from the north, which keeps it a degree or two above the inland towns.
Can you sunbathe on the Costa del Sol in November?
On a clear day, yes, in a sheltered spot out of the wind, and plenty of people do. What you will not get is reliable all day sunbathing weather: six hours of sun a day is an average across bright days and wet ones.
What is the coldest month in Marbella?
January, with average highs around 16 °C and lows near 8 °C. December and February are close behind. Even at its coldest, Marbella rarely gets frost on the coast.
Is November a good time to visit Spain?
For southern Spain, yes, if you want low prices and no crowds and you are not counting on the beach. Marbella in November suits golf, spas, food and walking. If swimming and sunbathing are the point of the trip, September or October are the better call.
Which is nicer, Málaga or Marbella?
Different trips. Málaga is a proper city with the Picasso and Carmen Thyssen museums, a cathedral and a bigger restaurant scene, and in November it has the Calle Larios lights. Marbella is smaller and milder, built around the beach, the old town and the marina. They are 45 minutes apart, so most visitors do both.
